Ray Yen

Managing Director

Mr. Yen joined CL as Managing Director with nearly three decades of experience in real estate finance and private equity. Mr. Yen oversees loan originations and acquisitions for CL’s credit platform.  In addition, Mr. Yen is responsible for the strategic management of the company’s commercial real estate investments and is an active member of CL’s Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Castle Lanterra, Mr. Yen was a Principal with BLT Green Hollow since its inception and was responsible for acquisitions, asset management, financings, implementation of technology, and training of staff. From 2016 to 2019, Mr. Yen was a Managing Director at BLT. Prior to BLT, Mr. Yen was with Five Mile Capital Partners since its inception in 2003, focusing on the acquisition and asset management of commercial real estate debt and equity investments.

Prior to joining Five Mile, Mr. Yen served as an Associate in Real Estate Structured Finance for ING Capital LLC, where he assisted in the underwriting and asset management of commercial real estate debt transactions. Prior to this experience, Mr. Yen worked as an Associate at ING Realty Partners LP where he focused on the acquisition of real estate joint venture equity investments. Mr. Yen also worked as a Senior Consultant in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group at Deloitte & Touche LLP and began his career as a Manager in the Global Real Estate Group at Citicorp.

Mr. Yen holds an MS in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a BA in Architecture from U.C. Berkeley.
